Okay, I'm calling it. We've reached Peak Blewit.
Field blewits will still be around here until December of course, even later if some manage to get themselves frozen (not that we had the slightest frost last year!). But there is usually around a week every year I refer to as 'Peak Blewit', when you could fill all your baskets with them and never make a dent on whats out there.
And I'm calling it. Peak blewit. Fill your basket.

Thanks for the heads up cab. Been under the cosh with work recently, feel like I haven't stepped outside in a couple of weeks. I'll go check my spots this weekend, see if your theory carries down my way

I may have been wrong. Boy, are there a lot of field blewits this year. I know its a common, plentiful shroom but I'm encountering big rings of them that I've never found on fields I've been picking on for 15 years - its like the struggling, near dormant spots of them are all partying this year.
