Come on peps .......and action
well I like a good chat and being I forage alone and only share with you online virtual friends I am needing nuturing so I figure a good thread is needed
so slightly predictable I'm going for the , age old question of 'what is your allusive foraged finds ' you know that one or two or ten things we all have on our mental lists that would give us butterflies and take us back to Christmas morning as a child , the excitement of that one thing we have searched for :-)
so here's mine ,
the roman nettle the old man of the woods (shroom ) and basil leaved thyme
So what's yours

Sorbus Tormenalis - Wild Service Tree (the berries, chequerberries)
Boletus Edulis
Sweet Cicely
loads of others mainly the expensive mushroom varieties. But those 3 sprung to mind.

I spent 4 hours in a wood that claimed to have wild service trees, there was even an info board talking about it but i'll be buggered if i could find them

I'm convinced if we look to hard we get blinded and blinkered and can't see the wood through the trees

For a moment I was trying to work out what tumbleweed was!
For me I'm desperate for horn of plenty, craterellus cornucopiaides. I was in perfect location for it last year, loads of hedgehogs and winter chanterelles but no sign of the trumpet. This year, I WILL find it!
I swear every tweet absolutelywild made around the time was more of them.

I'm in Kent, so would love to find chanterelles down here, also horn of plenty. I once found an area of the woods carpeted with them but I was about a week late in finding them as they were all well gone I would love to find some of the beautiful types of earth stars. Have yet to find cauliflower fungus too.
