From the wild cherries of early summer being staggeringly good, through to my little peach tree doing well, and the hedgerows full of cherry plums, the greengages you get around Cambrige still coming now and of course the damsons fruiting prolifically, this has without doubt been the most prolific year for prunus I can remember. Sloes have been ripe on the bushes since the end of June too.
Surprising really - early on it didn't look like the cherry harvest would be so good.
Only problem is, I've made jam, chutney, wine and flavoured booze already, and they're still coming...

It's a hard life hey I've been very lucky with cherry plums this year, got a load in the freezer as I didn't have time to process them. Haven't been over my sloe spot yet, guessing I should probably get on it.
