So it looks like the haws are just about ready for picking here, and I'm wondering what you all do with them or if you even bother.
I make leathers with them as it's an easy way to deal with the pips inside, and I've done an infusion in brandy, but wondering what else there is out there. I think I also tried a ketchup a couple of years ago but it set solid in the bottle. Think I may have done something wrong

I'm planning to make jelly if i get round to picking them. They look so good this year I think this'll be the one. I've been told it's a much better flavour than cranberry. They probably have a lot of pectin so may need to water them down with something for the ketchup idea.

I never seem to find time for them. Every year I think 'this year', but there's always something else that needs processing.
I wonder, is there anything you can do with haws that isn't better done with something else? Do they have a 'unique selling point', as it were?

1. They do make a tasty leather. 2. The name will always amuse me just a little bit 3. Probably nothing better than that

I like the idea of using them in more savoury dishes.
