Judging by what folk are tweeting, plenty of shrooming going on. Here in Cambs, found lots of parasols (all 3 common tasty large ones Macrolepiota procera, M. rhacodes and M. hortensis). Too many species of Agaricus to name (9 edible and the near ubiquitous on our soil yellow stainer). 3 species of Russula. And of course chicken of the woods, and giant puffball. No boletus or similar, except for a couple of Tylophilus. Not common at the best of times, but would have expected to see more. You might think this doesn't sound like a great diversity of shrooms but this is more or less what I mostly find here in Cambridge, without going further afield. So not bad, all round

Went out for just a couple of hours with my youngest daughter (nearly 2). We spent more time balancing on logs and jumping off stumps than we did foraging, but found loads of tawny grisettes, first Bay bolete of the year and a small chanterelle patch. Just a handful of chanties but not as close to a path as the last patch I found.
